Robin Josephson was 50 years old when she was diagnosed with
stage 4 breast cancer while working overseas as a nurse.  After
emergency treatment and chemotherapy, Robin returned home to
the United States, very ill, had no health insurance, and with
limited funds.

Friends helping Robin was a fund at Downey Savings Bank in
Agoura Hills, California that was setup by Robin's Sister, Karen
Therrien.  When it became apparent that Robin could no longer
return to work, her sister reached out to the local community
and found there were many people whom we did not know but
wanted to assist Robin to get the care she required.

This fund gave Robin the help she needed to pay living
expenses and medical expenses that were not covered by
Medi-cal.  It showed Robin the kindness and generosity of so
many people we now call our friends.  The pure beauty of those
gifts revived Robin's faith in the spirit of life.

After Robin's passing, Friends Helping Robin continued in her
honor, and is now a non-profit organization, Robin's Hope 4 The
Cure. We are dedicated to supporting women, families, and the
community in the fight against breast cancer.
